International Academic Engagement in the CIR315 Globalization and World-System Course within the Framework of Erasmus+

The Department of International Relations at Yalova University hosted an academic event that brought international academic engagement into the classroom as part of the Erasmus+ programme. Dr. Michał Poniatowski, an academic at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, Poland, who also practices law, participated as a guest scholar in the CIR315 Globalization and World-System course taught by Assist. Prof. Dr. Seçkin ARPALIER.

The guest scholar’s participation in the course was made possible through the planning and academic coordination carried out by Assist. Prof. Dr. Seçkin ARPALIER, with the guidance and support of Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Oğuzhan Köse. This initiative brought the academic visit under the Erasmus+ programme into direct engagement with the university’s teaching activities.

During the session, Dr. Michał Poniatowski met with students and shared his insights based on his academic expertise and comparative legal perspective. The academic exchange, focusing on globalization and the world-system, provided students with an opportunity to engage with approaches from different disciplines and international academic communities.

The event contributed to students’ opportunities to interact directly with an international scholar, explore diverse academic and disciplinary perspectives, and examine global issues from a comparative standpoint. At the end of the session, Assist. Prof. Dr. Seçkin ARPALIER thanked Dr. Michał Poniatowski for his academic contributions and for sharing his insights with the students.
